Our Commitment to Inclusion and Diversity
At Nordson, our people are our foundation. We celebrate the uniqueness of all employees and promote a welcoming culture where every individual is valued and respected.
We believe that the different backgrounds, demographics and experiences of our people combine to make us a richer, stronger organization, and we advance companywide policies to ensure Inclusion, Equity and Diversity (DE&I) remain central priorities in all personnel decisions.
Enhancing our hiring and selection process is a key focus of our I&D strategy. We want prospective employees to feel a sense of belonging, understanding and security throughout the interview and hiring process. One way we achieve this is through diverse interview panels, which stretch across divisions, ages, levels of experience, races and genders.
To increase the diversity of our candidates, we partner with a variety of external organizations, such as the National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Women Engineers and Women in Manufacturing. We are also making a concerted effort to build employer brand awareness at diverse colleges near our manufacturing and office facilities in the U.S. to improve representation across the company.
Empowering Employee Resource Groups
We believe connections and supportive relationships with coworkers help create a welcoming and inclusive environment. We want everyone to feel that they belong at Nordson, and we have four employee resource groups (ERGs) open to all. Our ERGs offer mentorship opportunities, sponsor professional development events, and organize initiatives that allow us to invest in our communities.
Nordson Black Employee Network (NBEN) aims to attract, support, retain, promote and develop Black employees into strong leaders, continued personal growth and organizational success. NBEN hosts educational sessions and development opportunities for employees.
Women’s Internal Nordson Network (WINN) aims to support, mentor and develop women into strong leaders, supporting their own and Nordson’s success. Programs organized by WINN are global, regional, and local in scope, and many are offered virtually to encourage all employees to participate.
Organization for Pride and Equality at Nordson (OPEN) aims to empower employees to be their most authentic selves at work, promote allyship and inclusivity, and grow personally and professionally. OPEN offers virtual programming on allyship and educational sessions so all employees can participate.
Minds of All Kinds strives to support all employees, regardless of neurotype, and help Nordson create a culture where everyone can thrive. Minds of All Kinds shares educational information on neurodiversity and holds interactive sessions on topics related to neurodiversity.
