Fluid Dispensing Software
Our specialized DispenseMotion™ software simplifies complex fluid dispensing applications with user-friendly programming. Just point-and-click to design dispense patterns that make even intricate parts effortless to assemble. With less than a single day of training users can work autonomously, reducing process setup time. Coupled with integrated vision, our automated systems ensure precise motion control for various patterns across multiple planes. Note that DispenseMotion is a standard feature on most of our robot systems.
Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
The OptiSure™ automated optical inspection (AOI) software add-on enhances precision in fluid dispensing by measuring and verifying deposit sizes with EFD robots’ integrated vision systems. Users can select an optional confocal laser kit for measuring and verifying the placement of transparent fluids on a part that is opaque or transparent. This unique feature allows for pre-deposit checks and precise part positioning through reference identification. In addition, users can get instant post-deposit quality feedback essential for critical applications.
Height Detection
Nordson EFD’s optional height detection sensors come in two types: mechanical sensors, which touch the part’s surface to find the zero point, and laser sensors, which measure part height contact-free. Mechanical sensors can only check select points, risking scratches or incorrect dispensing, while laser sensors assess the entire tool path, ensuring precision. Our confocal laser measures depth and dispensed quantities, making it ideal for the medical industry where thin, transparent substrates are common. Notably, our PROX/PROPlus/PRO and GV/GVPlus Series are compatible with laser height detection, and our E/EV Series are compatible mechanical height detection.
Tip Detection
Our automatic needle calibration system instantly adjusts your Nordson EFD robot after a dispense tip change to save valuable time and ensure deposit accuracy. Automatic tip adjustment is available on all Nordson EFD robots and guarantees precise X, Y, and Z height compensation to make up for any discrepancies. There is no need to reprogram your robot.
Guarded System
Our enclosure systems provide plug and play functionality with EFD robots. Just connect power and air. Mandatory in Europe, these CE-compliant enclosures group electrical connections and ensure operator safety with a physical barrier and light curtain.
