The BKG® HiCon™ K-SWE-4K-75/RS is a safe, reliable, mature system with a wide application window. It can easily handle most recycling materials, filtering out heavy contaminants. Additionally, the backflush feature enables for reuse of the filtration media, thus making it a reliable partner to increase sustainability.
Keeping pressure constant is crucial for creating high-quality end products. Amongst our self-cleaning backflush systems, the BKG® HiCon™ K-SWE-4K-75/RS is the melt filter to pick when the available pressure after the extruder is low to begin with and additional pressure loss during screen change and backflushing causes disruptions. Since 75% of the filtration area is always available, the differential pressure is kept low.

With Nordson’s BKG® HiCon™ K-SWE-4K-75/RS equipped with the BKG® FlexDisc™, the melt loss that accumulates during the backflushing process in the course of the filter cleaning is down to 1.4 – 1.7% – a figure that is a lot lower than normal in PET bottle-to-bottle recycling processes.
In addition to the considerable increase in screen life, a 40% reduction of the backflush amount compared to the previous system (a conventional backflush filter) was realized. With Nordson’s new BKG® FlexDisc™, the filter life was lengthened from eight to 72 hours.
