Nordson Test & Inspection's new Dynamic Planar CT™ was recently recognized for it's superior software package for Automated X-ray Inspection (AXI) systems with a 2025 EM Innovation Award.

The Dynamic Planar CT™ is the next-generation of 3D Planar X-Ray inspection software for AXI systems that reveals incredible details, significantly enhanced data quality, and clear layer separation with 3D reconstruction algorithms improving yields, processes and productivity.

With the help of the movable detector and movable sample multiple high quality off-axis images are aquired more than two times faster than with Planar CT. Based on the off-axis images the reconstruction engine reconstruct a volume containing the area of interest and our intelligent 3D algorithm reveals even tiniest defects in ultra high resolution. Depending on the inspection task the volume is sliced to multiple horizontal and vertical inspection layers and separated  and each layer of interest is inspected individually with highly sophisticated inspection algorithms. Higher throughput because of a larger field of view, an increased 3D reconstruction and a lower radiation dosage through reduced time of exposure.
