Automotive and Mobile Phone Applications Improve UPH with NexJet 8 Jetting System

A customer in the automotive industry transitioned from using the DispenseJet® DJ-9500 High-speed Jet (DJ-9500) to the NexJet® 8 Jetting System (NJ-8) for an underfill application. Prior to the transition, the customer was running two DJ-9500 jets to reduce changeover time. They decided to transition to the use of a single NJ-8 along with two ReadiSet® Jet Cartridges to enable quick changeover – leading to a 60% reduction in cleaning time and a 30% reduction in cost. The customer discovered that the ReadiSet® cartridge was not only easier to clean, but also easier and faster to replace on the NJ-8. By switching to the NJ-8, the customer also saw 10% UPH improvement due to the higher frequency on the NJ-8.
 

Mobile Phone Industry

A second customer, who assembles mobile phone flex circuits, switched from using the DJ-9500 jet to the NJ-8 jet. After upgrading to the NJ-8, the customer saw overall better UPH results. The NJ-8 sped up the dispensing of underfill fluid because it ran at 300 Hz compared to the DJ-9500 that ran at 166 Hz. Overall, the customer saw a 20% UPH improvement due to higher frequency of the NJ-8 jet.
