East Providence, RI USA — October 8, 2025 — Nordson EFD, a Nordson company (NASDAQ: NDSN), today announced its participation in Manufacturing Day 2025: Rhode Island’s Future in the Making on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The local event, hosted by Polaris Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP), connects 10th - 12th grade students with local manufacturers, advanced technologies and the potential of a high-tech career. In its 14th year, Manufacturing Day (#MFGDay25) is a nationwide initiative created by the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA) in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology MEP to shine a light on the industry and provide students with an early knowledge of the opportunities for a career in manufacturing. Last year’s Rhode Island event introduced more than 350 students to the types of jobs available in this sector. For more information, visit here.
Earlier this year, The Manufacturing Institute reported a projected shortfall of 2 million manufacturing jobs by 2033 and a current workforce gap of 350,000 positions driven by retirements and industry growth. Career exploration experiences provided by Polaris and other state MEPs give students their very first hands-on experience of a modern career pathway in this industry. Nordson EFD and other local manufacturers host booths and interactive stations to showcase their companies, products and technologies. During the event, school buses arrive at the venue starting in the morning and throughout the afternoon. Sponsorships help to ensure Manufacturing Day participation remains free to schools.
