Overview


The BKG® NorCon™ K-SWE-4K-75 is a double-piston screen changer. It has four screen cavities, two per piston. This melt filter operates continuously. During screen change, only one screen cavity needs to be moved out of the housing. The second screen cavity of the piston and the other piston and its filter cavities remain in the process and continue to filter the contaminated polymer melt.

Keeping pressure constant is crucial for creating high-quality end products. Amongst our continuous systems, the BKG® NorCon™ K-SWE-4K-75 is the melt filter to pick when the available pressure after the extruder is low to begin with and additional pressure loss during screen change causes disruptions. Since 75% of the filtration area is always available, the differential pressure is kept low.

 

Automated Venting

The BKG® NorCon™ can be equipped with an automated melt pressure controlled venting start feature. This provides reliable, repeatable, and independent of material, throughput, temperature, system pressure, and viscosity changes venting procedure, ensuring a high-quality end-product.
