BKG® EP Extrusion Melt Pumps

Nordson offers a wide range of reliable melt pumps. The BKG EP melt pump is our standard extrusion pump suitable for extrusion, compounding and recycling applications.

Overview


The BKG® EP extrusion pump series is our most standard pump solution for a wide range of applications. The EP melt pumps optimize the process, so the extrusion line produces optimal quality with the highest throughput possible. They are equipped with a rheologically optimized inlet and outlet geometry to guarantee a controlled transport of material. Temperature and pressure sensor ports are included in the pump housing.

 

One Concept - Different Models

The standard BKG® EP-SE is designed to process standard polymers, and low viscosity plastics, e.g., polyolefins, and is equipped with electrical heating.

When processing shear-sensitive plastics, e.g., PMMA or PET, a short residence time is key to preventing degradation of the polymer. Specifically designed to meet this requirement, the BKG® EP-SE-EO model is equipped with smaller, rheologically optimized in-/outlet geometries.

Extrusion


The BKG EP melt pump series eliminates pressure pulsations downstream of the extruder presenting end-product defects such as, breakages, thin spots, and even line shutdowns.

Recycling


In recycling processes where contamination levels are high and pressure is lost over the filter, the EP pump works as a booster. It increases the pressure before the melt enters the downstream equipment.
