ARAG Partners with Fieldin to Revolutionize Precision Spraying for Permanent Crops on the U.S West Coast
ARAG has teamed up with Fieldin, a leader in farm operations management, to bring an advanced precision spraying solution to permanent crop growers on the U.S. West Coast. By combining ARAG’s spraying technology with Fieldin’s data-driven platform, this partnership delivers real-time monitoring, improved control, and greater efficiency in orchard and vineyard spraying.
The first joint product from this collaboration is a digital flow rate monitoring solution, designed to give growers full visibility into their spraying operations. By integrating both companies’ expertise, the system enhances spraying accuracy and efficiency, especially critical for permanent crops like grapes, nuts, and fruit trees.
Growers now have real-time access to flow rate data, allowing them to catch errors as they occur and take immediate corrective action. The system also aggregates spray output data for streamlined reporting and cost accounting. In an environment of rising chemical costs, tighter margins, and growing regulatory pressure, this level of control is not just helpful—it’s essential.
Real-Time Monitoring Meets Field-Proven Reliability
ARAG’s precision spraying solutions ensures that each droplet counts, while Fieldin’s platform captures and organizes the data needed to make informed, on-the-fly decisions. The integration allows growers to track spraying activities in real time, identify under- or over-application issues, and adapt spraying strategies based on conditions like wind, humidity, and temperature.
“Precision agriculture is evolving rapidly, and the ability to monitor spray performance in real time marks a turning point for growers,” said Demi Mantas, Americas Sales Director at ARAG. “With this partnership, we’re making it easier than ever to transition to data-driven spraying—ensuring better coverage, lower waste, and improved compliance with sustainability standards.”
To make sure growers get the most out of the technology, the collaboration includes Precision Ag Solutions (PAS), a well-established distributor in California’s Central Valley. PAS provides local expertise, installation support, and training, making adoption seamless and scalable for a wide range of operations.
Although adoption of precision spraying in the U.S. has lagged behind countries like Australia—where more than 90% of permanent crop growers use such systems—this solution removes common barriers by being easy to implement and offering immediate operational benefits.
The new solution is already proving itself in the field. Macadamia Farm Management (MFM), Australia’s largest macadamia grower, implemented the system across over 13,000 acres. During its first use, the team detected a miscalibrated sprayer causing overspraying. Thanks to real-time flow data, they corrected the issue before it became costly or harmful.
“We saw immediate improvements in spray consistency and have better control over our operations,” said Armand Smit, Senior Operations Manager at MFM. “We started with a small trial and quickly expanded across our entire fleet of foliar sprayers.”
The Future of Sustainable Spraying
ARAG and Fieldin are already planning future enhancements, including automated flow control and variable rate applications, that will further increase efficiency and sustainability.
As regulations become stricter and growers seek more environmentally responsible practices, this partnership provides a timely, practical path forward.
By bringing together ARAG’s precision solutions and Fieldin’s digital intelligence, this collaboration marks a significant step toward more efficient, data-driven, and sustainable farming.
