Nordson and The Powder Coating Institute (PCI) are accepting applications for its 2023 Scholarship Program until March 24. The program is designed to assist students studying in areas that can lead to a career in powder coating, and includes the PCI General Scholarship and corporate-named scholarships: the PCI Axalta Scholarship, the PCI Gema Scholarship, the PCI Nordson Ken Kreeger Scholarship, the PCI PPG Scholarship, the PCI IFS Coatings Scholarship, the PCI Sun Polymer Scholarship, Therma-Tron-X Scholarship and the PCI Henkel Scholarship. The PCI’s Scholarship Program is designed to assist students that are interested in pursuing a career in the powder coating industry. The PCI Scholarship Program has helped increase the exposure of students to the powder coating industry, and in turn, they can find great jobs in our industry.

 

The PCI Scholarship Subcommittee is looking for qualified applicants that are currently pursuing the following disciplines:

  • Sales & Marketing
  • Chemistry
  • Polymer Science
  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Corrosion Engineering
  • Manufacturing Technology
  • Other like programs

PCI will award scholarships from the general fund and seven (7) separate corporate donor scholarships of $5000 each. The applications will be compiled by PCI staff and sent to the scholarship subcommittee for review and selection of each corporate scholarship and the PCI general scholarships. A representative from each corporate donor company serves on the scholarship subcommittee to select their applicant. The 2022 PCI Scholarship Program awarded $45,000 in total, which includes donations of $5,000 from each of our corporate donors: Axalta Coating Systems, Gema USA Inc., Henkel Corporation, IFS Coatings, Nordson Corporation, PPG and Sun Polymers.
