Depending upon the position of the valve, the polymer can be directed through different inlets and outlets to guide the melt where it needs to be. Functional Principle
The following example shows that the melt may be guided into one of the two outlet channels or both channels. Switching between the two outlet channels is done without air being trapped in the system.
