What are beverage cans?

Beverage cans are aluminium, plastic or metal containers designed to store and transport drinks. These aluminium, plastic or metal cans are made of thin aluminium sheets, which have been formed into cylindrical shapes and sealed using a plastic lining. The exterior of beverage cans is typically printed with attractive designs and colorful graphics, making them ideal for marketing and promotional purposes.

Beverage cans come in various sizes and are used to package a variety of beverages such as sodas, energy drinks, juices, beers, wines, teas, coffees etc. Aluminum cans offer convenience due to their light weight and portability; also they can be easily recycled or reused. This makes them an increasingly popular choice among beverage producers, for metal or plastic bottles all over the world. Nordson is a pioneer in inside spray technologies for two-piece and 3-piece cans and BPA-NI coating, helping manufacturers reduce material and labor costs and increase productivity.

Can making process

Cans are a popular and ubiquitous packaging option. They come in many styles, sizes, and custom designs, making them a great choice for beer brewers. While cans may appear to be simple containers, they are actually the result of an intricate manufacturing process that begins with raw aluminum sheets and results in refrigeration-ready cans. Raw aluminum sheets are stamped into individual discs using a powerful press. The discs are then cut into two pieces: the top which forms the lid of the can, and the bottom which is used to form the base of the aluminum cans.

Once separated, these pieces need to be formed into their final shapes through deep drawing processes. To ensure quality control throughout this stage of production, the aluminum cans are routinely inspected for defects and imperfections. Once the can is formed, it then needs to be printed with brand labels, artwork, nutritional information, and other details. After printing is complete, the beer cans must then be sealed by applying either a lid or a plastic film over the opening of each can. Nordson offers custom can manufacturing equipment that enables manufacturers to create custom cans for their products. Our equipment allows for greater customizability of beverage cans so that they better suit the needs of the product, while simultaneously reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

Spray Pressure Control Systems

The Nordson Spray Pressure Control System is a machine designed to help food can manufacturers achieve consistent coating weights on their cans, aluminium cans, food cans and other beverage cans. With its advanced pressure control, the machine helps to minimize variation and maximize operating efficiency. This leads to reduced costs in terms of coating materials, VOC emissions and clean-up and maintenance costs.

By using lower spray pressures, the machine ensures that operators are able to coat beverage cans effectively, with less waste while improving product quality. Furthermore, the machine allows users to set parameters for specific cans based on size or shape – making it especially useful for larger production lines where consistency is key. The Spray Pressure Control System is an ideal solution for any manufacturer looking to optimize their canning process while reducing costs and improving quality.

The Ink-Dot Identification System

Nordson Ink-Dot Identification System is an industry-leading solution for quickly and accurately identifying cans entering a spray machine. By applying a small dot of ink to the bottom of each can, industry professionals can easily identify which cans were sprayed with which spray machine should any problem arise.

Using a different colored ink for each spray machine allows industry workers to quickly determine the source of the issue and take corrective action without wasting valuable time or materials. This system helps reduce rejects, downtime, labor costs, and material costs in production lines, making it invaluable for industry professionals. With its simple yet effective design and proven track record of success, the Ink-Dot Identification System is revolutionizing industry standards.
