Nordson MEG-IIrc Spray Gun will Replace A20A Guns
Nordson MEG®-IIrc Spray Gun will Replace A20A Guns as the Best Practice for Inside Spray of Containers in 2013
AMHERST, OH, January 24, 2012 – Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ-NDSN), a recognized leader in advanced coating, dispensing and curing systems used in the production of beverage and food containers, announces the eventual obsolescence of its A20A gun for the inside spray applications. The A20A gun will be replaced by the more advanced MEG®-IIrc spray gun in January 2013.
“Nordson is continuously striving to take our technologies to the next level – helping customers to improve quality, cost-efficiency and productivity,” says Mark Novotny, global marketing manager, Nordson container systems. “The MEG-IIrc spray gun is an example of these efforts. Today, it is used throughout the global can-making industry as the preferred spray gun for inside spray of two-piece cans. Its proven accuracy and durability have enabled can manufacturers to reduce operating costs and improve quality.” The A20A inside spray gun will not be obsolete until January 2013, giving current customers ample opportunity to prepare for the change. After this date, the A20A guns will no longer be available, but Nordson will continue to provide the essential spare parts until January 2018.
“The MEG-IIrc has been replacing the older Nordson A20A as the best practice for inside spray in our industry,” continues Novotny. “It provides superior spray accuracy and longer service life, addressing the needs of the industry.” The MEG compact electric gun provides the fast, accurate application of solventborne and waterborne can lacquers to two- and three-piece containers, ease in disassembling the front end of the gun, and employs safety features for flammable spray materials.
