Norwich Free Academy awarded Educational Grant for its strong Manufacturing Career Pathway Focus

 

East Providence, RI — October 27, 2025 — Nordson EFD, a Nordson company (NASDAQ: NDSN), today announced grants totaling $225,000 have been awarded to nine recipient organizations in the State of Connecticut. Nordson EFD works in collaboration with the Nordson Corporation Foundation to support non-profit organizations offering programs that improve quality of life and build workforce skills in U.S. regions where Nordson has a strong community presence. Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, Connecticut received a $25,000 grant to support its advanced manufacturing students, covering career exploration opportunities, transportation and equipment for their mobile innovation laboratory. The academy played a pivotal role in developing the region’s Youth Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative, and provides unique student experiences, internships, certifications and programs that provide career pathways and job readiness in manufacturing and high-tech fields.

 

“Norwich Free Academy takes great pride in the strong educational foundation we provide for our advanced manufacturing students from earning college credits to learning the basics of CAD, 3D printing, and robotics. Our goal is simple – we want to ensure every student has a path for success whether it is an entry-level position in manufacturing or a move to college or trade school. Our work with Nordson EFD through EAMA RSP (Eastern Advanced Manufacturing Alliance – Regional Sector Partnership) has been so valuable. In addition to Norwich Free Academy, Nordson EFD also awarded a total of $100,000 in educational grants to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut Inc., Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, Riverfront Children’s Center Inc., and S.T.E.P.S. Inc. These endowments support programs that inspire and uplift young minds through mentorship, financial literacy, academic assistance, and safe learning environments. Four other grants totaling $100,000 were awarded to human welfare organizations in Connecticut including Always Home, Inc., Madonna Place Inc., Safe Places Inc., and Salvation Army, Southern New England Division. These donations support organizations helping families and individuals in need, ensuring access to safety and dignity through services like housing stability and crisis intervention.
