New Product Introduction Award
Nordson MARCH won the 2017 New Product Introduction (NPI) Award in the Surface Treatment Equipment category for its ModVIA™ Plasma Treatment System. Nordson MARCH’s ModVIA™ Plasma System is a fully integrated, flexible system that provides an increase in capacity for production demands. This innovative, cost-effective plasma system fits the needs of small- to medium-sized businesses or R&D institutions that process low-volume, high-mix products.
The NPI Award was sponsored by Circuits Assembly and Printed Circuit Design and Fab, part of UP Media Group and recognizes creativity and innovation, compatibility with existing technology, cost- effectiveness, expected reliability, flexibility, performance, and user-friendliness.
Global Technology Award
Nordson MARCH received the 2016 Global Technology Award for its FlexTRAK™-CDS high-volume plasma system at a ceremony held in conjunction with the SMTA International conference in Rosemont, IL. Entries were judged on innovation, speed/throughput improvements, quality contribution, cost benefits, environmental consideration, ease of use/implementation, and maintainability/repairability. Nordson MARCH’s FlexTRAK-CDS is an innovative compact platform that delivers industry-leading throughput capacity with short cycle times. The system removes contamination, etches surfaces to improve adhesion, and provides surface activation prior to die attach, wire bond, mold encapsulation, and underfill to lead frame strips, laminated substrates, and other strip-type electronic components.
SMTA Corporate Partnership Award
Nordson Corporation received the SMTA Corporate Partnership Award in recognition of its ongoing support of the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA). Several Nordson divisions are active Corporate members including Nordson ASYMTEK, Nordson MARCH, Nordson DAGE, and Nordson YESTECH. The SMTA Corporate Partnership Award recognizes Nordson for its willingness to share technical knowledge within the electronics manufacturing industry as evidenced by the many papers that have been presented at numerous SMTA conferences. Nordson has supported local chapters and their technical programs throughout the world, exhibited annually at SMTA International and regional chapter Expos since 2003, has participated in Ambassador and Exhibitor Committees, provided financial donations to its special events and featured areas, and supported its international efforts.
The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) is an international network of professionals who build skills, share practical experience, and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies, including microsystems, emerging technologies, and related business operations.
Circuits Assembly New Product Introduction Award
Nordson MARCH won the 2015 New Product Introduction (NPI) Award in the General Cleaning category for its FlexVIA™-Plus Plasma Treatment System. The system is designed for processing flexible PCBs in high-throughput flexible circuit board manufacturing operations. The Award was presented at IPC APEX 2015, held in San Diego, CA from February 24-26, 2015.
The NPI award, sponsored by Circuits Assembly and Printed Circuit Design and Fab, part of UP Media Group, recognizes creativity and innovation, compatibility with existing technology, cost-effectiveness, expected reliability, flexibility, performance, and user-friendliness.
Nordson MARCH received the EM Asia-China Award for its FlexVIA™ Plasma System, a completely self-contained vacuum plasma system designed for maximum efficiency and cost-effective etch, desmear, and surface activation treatment of flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs). The award, presented by EM Asia-China magazine on 23 April 2013, was determined by judging criteria that included innovation, cost effectiveness, speed/throughput, technology advancement, ease-of-use, quality, and maintainability.
