Charging Port Bonding

 

The bonding between the plastic charger housing and the metal charging port uses PUR adhesive. Nordson precision applicators are used to dispense a closed loop of adhesive along the shape of the metal charging port. This application has strict requirements for the precision of the dispensing location and adhesive volumes, as it needs to pass airtightness tests to achieve waterproofing.

 

Housing Bonding

This application utilizes Nordson's specially designed extended-length nozzle. Nordson's hot melt adhesive dispensing system can control the heating temperature with a precision of ±1ºC.

 

Side Mesh Bonding

The step of the housing is very narrow. Therefore, the dispensed adhesive line must be thin and uniform, and adhesive must also be present on the side wall of the step. After pressing, there must be no visible adhesive overflow between the housing and the mesh. Thus, the precision of dispensing location and adhesive volume control is particularly important.

 

Speaker Mesh Bonding

The bonding of the speaker mesh also uses PUR. A closed loop of adhesive is dispensed on the step of the speaker body, followed by the attachment and pressing of the speaker mesh.

 

Stem Bonding

Nordson has successfully implemented this application by increasing the dispensing speed and applying a thinner adhesive line on the smaller radius of the rear cover.

 

Internal Component Bonding

Nordson can achieve various dispensing paths inside the 3D curved shape of the earbuds to meet different requirements.

 

Shell Bonding

This is the last bonding process in the entire earbuds manufacturing process and is extremely important. The amount of adhesive is subject to extremely strict standards, as it directly affects the sealing and bonding strength of the earbuds, which in turn determines the sound effect and audio quality. Therefore, it needs to pass strict tests such as sealing. Due to the structural design, a long needle nozzle is required.
