Restricted Substances Program

Nordson Corporation Restricted Substances Policy

Nordson strives for excellence in the design and manufacture of our products and services. To that end we work diligently to deliver products to our customers that meet strict global product content requirements.

Restricted Substance List
The Nordson Restricted Substance List (RSL), which identifies prohibited or declarable substances in all Nordson products, is a key component of this initiative.

The RSL is compiled from the following sources:
  • EU Directive 2002/95/EC, Restrictions on the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS2) and Amendment Directive EU 2015/863.
  • EU Regulation 1907/2006, Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH).
  • The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.
  • The US Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
  • Section 1502 of the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Conflict Minerals)
  • Other relevant global regulations as determined by Nordson.
  • Substances determined by Nordson to have justification to be controlled, whether or not there is a legislative requirement.

Supplier Expectations
Our suppliers are key to our restricted substance compliance and continued success. Nordson Corporation requires suppliers to:
  • Assist Nordson with design of restricted substance compliant products.
  • Establish restricted substances compliance assurance procedures throughout your company.
  • Design products using only compliant parts, materials, and processes, including appropriate declarations where necessary.
  • Monitor your supply chain for compliance.
  • Create a chain of objective evidence verifying product conformity.
  • Measure and verify the effectiveness of your restricted substances controls.
  • Provide material declarations for products delivered to Nordson.

Nordson Corporation Supplier Polling
Nordson conducts supplier polling through our third party provider, GreenSoft. When a request is received from GreenSoft or directly from Nordson, suppliers are expected to provide the requested compliance information, which may include REACH, RoHS, TSCA, PFAS, California Prop 65, and Conflict Minerals. The submitted information is reviewed, and any inconsistencies, non-compliances, or other issues are addressed.

Customer Requests
Requests for compliance information for Nordson products can be sent to your Nordson business contact. Alternately, you can send your request to [email protected], but be sure to identify the Nordson business and location so that your request can be forwarded to the proper group.
