Sundaram Nagarajan
President and Chief Executive Officer

Sundaram “Naga” Nagarajan serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer, joining the Company on August 1, 2019.  He focuses on creating value for customers through innovation and industry‑leading excellence in quality and delivery. 

Prior to joining Nordson, Mr. Nagarajan had a 23-year career with Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW), a Fortune 200 company, where he had roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he was the Executive Vice President, ITW Automotive OEM Segment, a $3.3 billion business segment. Under his leadership, the Automotive OEM Segment consistently delivered profitable revenue growth through both organic and acquisitive means. 


Mr. Nagarajan serves on the Board of Directors of Sonoco Products Company (NYSE: SON), is a member of the Advisory Board of IACS, Executive Club, Economics Club of Chicago, and is a past trustee of Hobart Institute of Welding Technology, former trustee of AWS Foundation Inc., and was the Co-Chair of ITW’s National United Way Campaign (2013 and 2014).


Mr. Nagarajan earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from South Gujarat University, India, an MBA from Wright State University, and a Ph.D. in materials science from Auburn University.

 

 

 Greg Thaxton
Gregory A. Thaxton
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Greg Thaxton serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the company’s accounting and reporting, tax, treasury, internal audit and investor relations functions.


Mr. Thaxton began his Nordson career in 1989 as a financial analyst.  Prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018, Mr. Thaxton was corporate Senior Vice President from November 2011 through February 2018, and corporate Vice President from 2007 through November 2011.  He became a part of the executive leadership team in February 2006 when he was named Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Previously, Mr. Thaxton served as group controller for the Pacific South Division and the Finishing and Coating Systems segment (now Industrial Coating Systems), as well as the Automotive Systems and UV Curing Systems segments.


Mr. Thaxton serves on the board of directors of Kimball Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq: KE) and is also a board member and treasurer of Lorain County Community College Foundation.


Mr. Thaxton, a certified public accountant (inactive), earned a B.S. in accounting from Miami University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College.

 

 

Gina Beredo
Gina A. Beredo
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Gina Beredo serves as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, overseeing the company’s legal function in global mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, litigation, and other general corporate legal matters.

 

Prior to joining Nordson in 2013, Ms. Beredo served as Chief Litigation Counsel and Director of Compliance & Ethics at American Greetings Corporation (previously NYSE: AM).

Prior to being named General Counsel in January 2018, Ms. Beredo served as the Deputy General Counsel.  Ms. Beredo began her legal career as a litigation associate at BakerHostetler LLP.

Ms. Beredo earned a B.S. in history from Saint Louis University and a J.D. from the University of Indiana Maurer School of Law-Bloomington.

 

 

 

Jim DeVries
James E. DeVries
Executive Vice President, Continuous Improvement

Jim DeVries serves as the Executive Vice President of Global Continuous Improvement, SCM and EHS, leading the global continuous improvement team tasked with setting productivity goals, defining key metrics, ensuring overall process consistency across the company, and leading large enterprise step-change projects.


Mr. DeVries began his Nordson career in 1985 as an engineer in the company’s Industrial Coating Systems segment.  Prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018, Mr. DeVries was the Vice President of Global Continuous Improvement from October 2010 through February 2018.  Previously, Mr. DeVries served as systems engineering manager and Vice President of Adhesive Dispensing Systems, North America and China Engineering & Operations.  In 2008, he was responsible for two Nordson facilities being selected as winners in IndustryWeek magazine’s prestigious Best Plants competition.  There manufacturing plants were recognized for excellence in operational improvements, agile production systems, supplier partnerships, customer focus, employee empowerment, quality systems, management practices, proactive environmental and safety practices, and manufacturing capability.


Mr. DeVries earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cleveland State University and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College.

 

 

 

John Keane
John J. Keane
Executive Vice President

 

John Keane serves as an Executive Vice President, leading the continued integration and optimization of acquired polymer processing product lines within the company's Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment. He also leads Nordson’s Global Business Services organization providing integrated back office services for the enterprise.


Mr. Keane began his Nordson career in 1992 as a project engineer in the converting product line.  Prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018, Mr. Keane gained extensive experience within all three of the company’s global operating segments as Senior Vice President from 2005 through February 2018, with responsibility for the Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment and for the Advances Technology segment, as corporate Vice President from 2003 through 2005 with responsibility for the Finishing and Coating Systems segment (now Industrial Coating Systems), and as Vice President of the Packaging & Product Assembly businesses in the Adhesives segment from 2000 through 2003, with responsibility for global engineering and marketing.  Previously, Mr. Keane served as an engineering manager for the packaging and product assembly product lines.


Mr. Keane earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and attended the Harvard Business School’s executive management program.



 

Stephen Lovass
Stephen P. Lovass
Executive Vice President

Stephen Lovass serves as an Executive Vice President, leading the Industrial Coating Systems business segment, which includes the powder, container and liquid coating, UV curing and cold materials adhesive and sealing product lines, and he directs the sales, service and marketing, product development, application engineering and manufacturing functions of same.


Prior to joining Nordson in 2016, Mr. Lovass most recently served as president for one of the global sensors and controls businesses at Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR), a $21 billion Fortune 200 diversified science and technology company. Prior to this, Mr. Lovass has held senior roles in Strategic Planning and General Management based in the US, Europe, and Asia.


Prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018, Mr. Lovass was Vice President. 


Mr. Lovass, a certified public accountant (Australian equivalent), earned a B.S. of commerce from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

 


Greg Merk
Gregory P. Merk
Executive Vice President

Greg Merk serves as an Executive Vice President, leading the packaging, nonwovens, product assembly, and web coating product lines within the Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment.

Mr. Merk began his Nordson career in 1994 as a product specialist with the company’s Japanese subsidiary, Nordson KK  Prior to being named Executive Vice President, Mr. Merk was the Senior Vice President from May 2013 through February 2018, leading the company’s Pacific South Division subsidiary operations and distributor activities in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region. Previously, Mr. Merk served as a regional manager in the Adhesives Dispensing Systems business in Latin America and general manager of Nordson do Brasil/Latin South America.


Mr. Merk earned a B.S. in finance from the State University of New York.

 

 

Shelly Peet
Shelly M. Peet
Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Information Systems

Shelly Peet serves as the Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Information Systems, overseeing the company’s worldwide operations, addressing issues related to new technologies and growing communications requirements.


Ms. Peet began her Nordson career in 2003 as director of corporate information service.  Prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018, Ms. Peet served as Vice President of Human Resources from February 2009 through February 2018 while also overseeing Information Services and Community Relations.   


Ms. Peet holds a B.S. in physics from Wittenberg University and M.S. in systems engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

 

 

Jeff Pembroke
Jeffrey A. Pembroke
Executive Vice President

Jeff Pembroke serves as an Executive Vice President, leading the fluid management product lines of Nordson’s Advanced Technology Systems segment, including Nordson EFD and Nordson MEDICAL.


Mr. Pembroke began his Nordson career in 2005 as Vice President of sales and marketing for Nordson’s Industrial Coating & Automotive Systems segment. He then served as Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Nordson’s Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment before being names President of Nordson EFD in 2009.  Mr. Pembroke was named Corporate Vice President leading fluid management product lines with the Advanced Technology segment, prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018.


Prior to joining Nordson, Mr. Pembroke spent 16 years at General Electric (NYSE: GE), starting as a financial analyst before serving in several sales and marketing assignments with increasing responsibility, including director of commercial operations for GE Advanced Materials for the Americas. 


Mr. Pembroke earned a B.S. from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics and is a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program (FMP).

 

 

Joe Stockunas

Executive Vice President

Joe Stockunas serves as an Executive Vice President, leading the company’s Advanced Technology Systems segment.

Prior to joining Nordson in 2013, Mr. Stockunas served 30 years at Air Products & Chemicals Inc. (NYSE: APD), a leading provider of atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, equipment, and services to a variety of end markets worldwide.  Most recently, he served as Air Products' Global Business Director, Electronics Materials with profit and loss responsibility for a multi-million-dollar business supplying high purity gases and chemicals to the global electronics industry.


Prior to being named Executive Vice President in February 2018, Mr. Stockunas was Vice President for electronic systems product lines within the Advanced Technology Systems segment.


Mr. Stockunas earned a B.S. in metallurgy and materials engineering from Lehigh University.
