The angle of the peel is software controlled at a 90 degree angle to the bond. Careful attention is paid to the removal of any pre-load on the bond caused by the jaws closing and clamping on the material before the start of the test which would contaminate the test result.
For a second level of analysis Nordson DAGE provide software controlled force displacement curves for comparison against a known good test result.
