Infrared Preheating

Maintains Topside Board Temperature During Soldering

Features and Benefits

- Infrared preheating modules to improve consistency and quality of solder joints

- Individual preheating zones can be activated and controlled separately based on size of printed circuit board assembly

- Closed-loop pyrometer controlled preheating verifies desired circuit board temperature is reached and maintained during soldering cycle

- Preheating ramp rate can be programmed and controlled to a precise temperature and to achieve energy savings

- Available on all Novo® 102, 103, Cerno® 102IL, 103IL, 105IL and Integra® 103ILD soldering machines

Overview.  The Topside Infrared Preheater is designed to maintain the temperature of a PCB during the soldering process significantly improving solder quality.  This is particularly important with long soldering cycles where circuit boards can cool down before the last solder joints can be properly formed. All functions of the Topside Infrared Preheater are controlled by closed-loop pyrometer control and the SWAK-OS 4.0 programming and editing software.

Integrated Solution. The Topside Infrared Preheater fully integrates with closed-loop process controls contained in Nordson SELECT’s SWAKOS 4.0 software providing seamless operation for your selective soldering process. Nordson SELECT’s closed-loop process controls enable successful results for a full range of soldering applications and ensures stable and repeatable results for high-yield production.

Experience. With over a decade of selective soldering experience and more than a thousand systems currently in production, Nordson SELECT is committed to providing innovative solutions for all selective soldering needs.  Our global support network, including state-of-the-art application development labs, provides customers with worldclass know-how and application expertise.
