Ammunition and Defense

Manufacturers depend on Nordson EFD’s precision dispensing solutions to apply extremely accurate, repeatable amounts of fluid critical to producing high-performance ammunition, weaponry, and defense systems.

Our industry-leading dispensing solutions effectively seal bullets and primers in a wide variety of ammunition sizes and calibers. They can be used as stand-alone systems or integrated into existing production lines.

Other applications include coating circuit boards, potting electronics, and bonding sensor assemblies and enclosures to protect sophisticated defense systems from harsh environments. Our solutions also assist in manufacturing military aircraft, vehicles, optics, and navigation gear.

EFD’s precision jet valves provide highly accurate sealing at up to 1500Hz (cycles per second). They jet UV-cure anaerobics, lacquers, and other specialty fluids used to waterproof ammunition rounds for military environments.

Our spray valves apply consistent amounts of oil to lubricate rifle cartridge casings during the necking process. They also provide consistent surface coverage with no mist or overspray for stamping brass into blanks and cups.

EFD dispense valves deliver the precise, repeatable deposits of adhesives and other fluids used to assemble bullets, projectiles, and sporting weaponry such as archery arrows.

Our benchtop fluid dispensers provide reliable control for sealing applications and color-filling gun sights and other markings on pistols and rifles.

For high-volume production, EFD’s automated dispensing robots deliver greater throughput with less rework and rejects. Unique vision-guided dispensing software make EFD robots extremely easy to setup and program.
