Nordson ASYMTEK employees share with their community through a program called Time 'n Talent
Our Time 'n Talent committee, in conjunction with our employees, organize local volunteer projects and recruit coworkers, retirees, friends and family members to volunteer on a project-by-project basis.
Within the Nordson Corporation, employees have organized and participated in more than 250 projects, volunteering more than 53,000 hours to local organizations. Based on national statistics, this equates into more than $900,000 given back to local communities through volunteerism.
The Mission of the Time 'n Talent Program
Our mission is to encourage volunteerism by providing all employees, retirees and their families opportunities to plan and participate in organized volunteer activities which address needs in our communities.
Past and On-Going Volunteer Projects
The Time 'n Talent committee helps our employees select volunteer opportunities that are close to home and have meaning in our lives. Some of our past and on-going projects include participating in Hands On San Diego, Habitat for Humanity, The Angel's Depot, and many other local charitable groups. In addition, our employees also open up their hearts to help with a number fundraisers and food drives, book drives, blood drives, eye glass donations, and supporting organizations such as American Cancer Society, The Humane Society of the United States, United Way and more.
Nordson ASYMTEK and our employees are highly involved in promoting science and technology in our schools. Our employees mentor Team Paradox Robotics at San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas, California, USA. This program is part of FIRST Robotics, which strives to inspire children to pursue learning and careers in science and technology.
In November, men at Nordson ASYMTEK grow mustaches as part of Movember, which is an annual event where men grow mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of and money for men’s health issues. Started in 2011 with 7 participants in our Carlsbad facility, the event has grown to over 30 in current years.
