Nordson YESTECH Showcases Complete Line of AOI and X-Ray Solutions at NEPCON South China 2010

Carlsbad, CA, USA – Nordson YESTECH, a subsidiary of Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) and a leading supplier of automated optical and x-ray inspection systems for the electronics industry, will feature their complete line of AOI and X-Ray systems, including their flagship FX Series AOI and X3 3D X-Ray inspection solution for populated printed circuit boards, at this years NEPCON South China show. Held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from August 31 through September 2, they will conduct live demonstrations in booth 1H32.

Nordson YESTECH will showcase their innovative FX Series AOI, with advanced Fusion Lighting™, offering high-speed PCB inspection with exceptional defect coverage and an extremely low false failure rate. The FX series delivers a complete inspection solution, providing advanced automated inspection of solder and lead defects, component presence and position, correct part, polarity and through-hole parts. The FX Series AOI is equally well suited for high-volume or high mix manufacturing environments, providing fast throughput and high resolution for inspection of 01005 components. Programming is fast and easy; operators typically take less than 30 minutes to create a complete inspection program, including solder inspection. The system utilizes a standard package library to simplify training and insure program portability across manufacturing lines. Nordson YESTECH’s Advanced Fusion Lighting™ and 5 megapixel image processing technology integrates several techniques, including color inspection, normalized correlation and rule-based algorithms, to provide complete inspection coverage with an extremely low false failure rate.

In the booth, they will also highlight the award winning X3 3D Automated X-Ray Inspection System (AXI). The versatile X3 provides electronics manufacturers advanced 3D inspection capability for complete inspection of solder joints and other critical hidden features found in electronic assemblies, PCBs and packaged semiconductors. Ideal for in-line or off-line operation, the X3's innovative algorithms enable fast and reliable automated inspection and real-time monitoring of critical process information. Nordson YESTECH’s patented Digital Tomosynthesis Technology acquires multiple images in different slice heights in one inspection cycle. The images can discriminate between components on the top and bottom slices of double sided boards for unimpeded automated inspection. When integrated with Nordson YESTECH AOI inspection, these systems can increase fault coverage to include nearly all process defects. Optional remote programming and SPC software can be utilized to provide a comprehensive yield enhancement solution.
