NEW CASTLE, PA., U.S.A., July 24, 2014: Shannon Abts has joined Nordson as Midwest regional sales manager for the XALOY product line, it was announced today by Rob Cook, manager of processor sales for the Americas.
Mr. Abts will be responsible for sales in Arkansas, Colorado, southern Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
“Shannon brings twelve years of engineering experience in plastics processing, along with eight spent as an engineer in the food processing industry,” said Mr. Cook. “He has a shop-floor understanding of manufacturing systems that will play a valuable role in the support he provides to our customers.”
Shannon Abts entered the plastics industry in 1996 as an injection molding technician for CertainTeed Corporation. Subsequently he worked for Blitz USA, first as an extrusion blow molding process engineer, then as a product delivery team leader overseeing maintenance and metal personnel. He comes to Nordson XALOY from Mars Petcare US, where he was a process improvement engineer.
Mr. Abts holds a BSc degree in plastics engineering from Pittsburg State University in Kansas.
