Concord, CA, February 09, 2003 – Nordson MARCH announces enhancements to the XTRAK™ in-line plasma treatment system that result in overall performance and throughput improvements.
Increased Throughput: The XTRAK™ transport software has been modified to allow plasma processing of single or multiple parts simultaneously. Throughput increases two-fold for many applications. The symmetrical plasma chamber ensures parts or carriers are treated uniformly.
- High-level System Performance: The XTRAK™ system's new SMART Tune™ management system provides closed-loop plasma control that reduces tuning time to less than one second. The system automatically recycles to a plasma-ready state, compensating for changes in vacuum pressure, temperature and varied lot sizes.
- Maximum power to the chamber is achieved with a proprietary algorithm that constantly measures forward and reflective power inside the chamber. Capacitors automatically return to the pre-activation state after each plasma cycle. Adjustment occurs during part transport, ensuring tune and transport processes are simultaneously accomplished in less than one second. Throughput and reliability are maximized; dwell time is minimized.
The XTRAK™ gas plasma treatment system provides a fast, efficient method for surface treatment and cleaning prior to wire bonding, die attach, encapsulation, conformal coating and other processes. Plasma processing enhances lamination bond strength, improves wire bond strength and uniformity, promotes underfill adhesion and enhances die attach.
