Concord, CA, February 23, 2009 - Nordson MARCH, the global leader in advanced plasma systems, announced today it has released its patent-pending FlexCLIP™ printed circuit board (PCB) holder technology, developed specifically for holding thin and flexible PCB panels in place during plasma processing. FlexCLIP™ holders are designed for use with a Nordson MARCH-brand PCB plasma system to increase throughput and productivity by reducing panel loading and unloading times. PCB plasma applications include various surface treatments, via etchback and desmear steps.
The new FlexCLIP™ holders allow customers to quickly load and unload a batch of panels for plasma treatment. Previously, loading PCB panels was time-consuming and cumbersome, requiring manually locking fasteners to hold the panels in place. Now, each PCB panel can be secured in place with just 4 quick magnetically-assisted snaps, streamlining the panel loading and unloading processes.
“We are releasing our FlexCLIP™ technology at just the right time,” said Dr. James Getty, Ph.D., Director of Applications and Business Development at Nordson MARCH. “Customers insist on technology to make their operation more cost-effective and streamlined. FlexCLIP™ technology enables faster run-to-run times, and improves overall system throughput. Instead of wasting time loading and unloading product, the customer is plasma treating their PCB panels. They can move on to the next processing step more quickly.”
FlexCLIP™ technology is offered as a standard feature on the company’s top-of-the-line PROVIA™ PCB Plasma System. FlexCLIP™ retrofit kits are also available for customers currently using older versions of its PCB line of plasma systems, including the PCB-2800, PCB-1600, and PCB-800 plasma systems, as well as the C-Series line of customized plasma systems.
