March 23, 2009 East Providence, RI USA – Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ:NDSN) has been named a winner of the 2009 Progressive Manufacturing 100 Award for its “e-Commerce for SAP®” initiative for Nordson subsidiary EFD®, Inc.
The award recognizes 100 projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of eight core disciplines as critical to business success in the years ahead. The EFD e-commerce system was selected in the Progressive Manufacturing Awards category for “Customer Mastery,” specifically order management, service and support.
Before the e-Commerce system was installed, EFD customers in Asia, Europe and the Middle East were supported by order management located in the United States. The system installed at EFD instantly produced significant improvements in order management, production planning, distribution and customer service, due to single flow processing and the availability of real–time information unaffected by time zone issues.
"Eighteen percent of EFD’s revenue and thirteen percent of our order activity is attributed to the e-Commerce system today and both are growing weekly,” states Peter Lambert, President, EFD, Inc. “By implementing the system, we answered the number one request from our customers, the ability to order online.
Based on the success at EFD, Nordson plans to begin implementing the new e-Commerce system at their other subsidiaries and locations."
The e-Commerce module was developed by b2b2dot0 located in Raleigh, North Carolina
