Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) has long offered gluing systems for corrugated folder gluers, and now, in response to strong market interest, has developed a simpler, more flexible non-contact gluing system to improve production efficiency while maintaining bond quality. Nordson has expanded the capability of its versatile corrugated gluing station to include non-contact applications. As with the established contact configuration, the non-contact gluing station is highly flexible, allowing for: one to three guns; top-down or bottom-up gluing; operator or drive side installation; and, retrofits to existing contact gluing stations.
The gluing station’s simple, quick-change brackets deliver fast set-up and changeover. And, the modular concept also increases accessibility to components to speed up maintenance and cleaning.
The non-contact gluing station uses reliable, high-speed LA 825 RC applicators which offer sharp, clean cutoff. LA 825 RC guns come with silicone nozzle covers to prevent adhesive dry-out during extended down time.
As part of a complete system with the LogiComm® pattern control and verification system and GD 500 sensor, the corrugated gluing station is the simple, flexible solution to help improve production efficiency and product quality.
The LogiComm system is an integrated pattern control and verification system with an easy-to-use touch screen interface. A programmed adhesive pattern simply and quickly translates to the pattern being verified. And, if desired, adhesive verification can be supplemented by verification of substrate properties such as skewed or overlapping blanks.
Just one of a family of LogiComm sensors, the GD 500 sensor monitors liquid adhesive volume. The GD 500 sensor facilitates fast set-up and changeovers with an easy-to-use LCD and keypad interface and automatic, dynamic calibration to “learn” new patterns.
