Nordson Corporation Announces Promotion of Gregory A. Thaxton to Corporate Senior Vice President

Westlake, Ohio, USA – December 2, 2011 -  Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN) today announced the promotion of Gregory A. Thaxton as a Corporate Senior Vice President of the company.  Thaxton, previously elected as a Nordson Corporate Vice President in 2007, serves as Nordson’s Vice President, Chief Financial Officer reporting directly to Nordson President and CEO Michael F. Hilton.

“Greg is well deserving of this promotion to Corporate Senior Vice President,” said Hilton. “Nordson has significantly improved its financial performance during Greg’s time as Chief Financial Officer, and his sound judgment continues to be invaluable in setting our strategic direction moving forward.  He is an outstanding partner to our business units, an excellent mentor to many, and a steward of our corporate values.” 

As Nordson’s Chief Financial Officer, Thaxton directs the corporate accounting and reporting, internal audit, tax, treasury, investor relations and business control functions.  He became a part of the executive leadership team in February 2006 when he was named Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting officer. Previously, Thaxton served as Group Controller for the Pacific South Division and the Finishing and Coating Systems segment, as well as the Automotive Systems and UV Curing Systems businesses. Thaxton joined Nordson in 1989.

Thaxton, a certified public accountant, holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Miami University and a master's degree in business administration from Baldwin-Wallace College.  He is a board member of Lorain County Community College Foundation and Nordson Corporation Foundation.  In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the MAPI CFO Council, and the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
