Nordson Corporation Announces Election of New Members to Board of Directors

Westlake, Ohio, USA – February 29, 2012 -  Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq:NDSN) today announced the election of three directors to its board for terms expiring in 2015, bringing the total number of Nordson directors to 10.   

Newly elected to the Nordson Corporation Board of Directors are Arthur L. George, Jr., 50, and Frank M. Jaehnert, 54.

George is Senior Vice President and Manager, Analog Engineering Operations of Texas Instruments Incorporated (NASDAQ: TXN).  Texas Instruments is one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies and a highly innovative, high performing global leader in analog, embedded processing and wireless technologies.  George brings to the Board significant executive general management experience as well as extensive operational and new product development experiences in high technology markets.  George’s experience with high performance analog products used in a wide range of industrial products gives him insight to a diverse set of industries and affords the Board a unique perspective in identifying strategic and tactical risks attendant to the semiconductor electronics market.

Jaehnert is Chief Executive Officer and President of Brady Corporation (NYSE: BRC).  Brady Corporation is an international manufacturer and marketer of complete solutions that identify and protect premises, products and people.  Jaehnert brings extensive, broad-based international business and executive management and leadership experience to the Nordson Board, and, coupled with a demonstrated execution of strategic vision and a well-developed understanding of financial accounting and financial matters, compliments strongly the skill sets of Nordson’s present directors.

Incumbent director Michael J. Merriman, Jr. was re-elected for a three year term.  Merriman has been a director since 2008.
