How Does Prodigy® Work ?

Prodigy® transport technology is based upon the unique Nordson High Density powder Low Velocity air (HDLV®) mechanism where powder is metered to the gun using less air to propel it at a slower velocity. The Prodigy® HDLV® pump (right) consists of two chambers that operate independently. Each chamber alternately draws powder in and dispenses powder out of the pump. Crucially, unlike a venturi pump, no air is added to the powder mixture, with the powder suction being caused by a vacuum inside the pump.

The synchronised, precise, powder transport provided by a Prodigy® HDLV® pump removes the neccesity for venturis which wear over time, and subsequently cause variable, irregular output from the gun.

As it does not contain venturis, the Prodigy® HDLV® pumping mechanism ensures equal output to each gun consistently over time and eliminates variances on the product caused by unpredictable venturi wear.
