Westlake, Ohio, - August 1, 2006 - Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) today announced that John Byers has been appointed president of the company’s Asymtek business, located in Carlsbad, California. Asymtek designs and manufactures a full line of dispensing and conformal coating systems for semiconductor package and printed circuit board assembly as well as automotive, medical, aerospace, disk drive, flat panel display, optoelectronic, appliance and other precision industrial manufacturing applications.

Byers joined Nordson Corporation in 1994 as engineering manager for its Electronics Systems business, which he was subsequently promoted to lead. Byers has also managed Asymtek’s worldwide technical support organization. In 2001, he was promoted to director of Supply Chain Management for Nordson Corporation and in 2003, was named director of Corporate Development. Since November 2005, Byers has served as business unit director for Asymtek’s Spectrum Business Group. Byers holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master’s of business from Indiana University.
