MiniBlue II adhesive applicators from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) allow packagers to manage reduced adhesive availability by doubling the number of packagers sealed per pound of adhesive.
Used with Nordson Saturn® Platinum (SP) solenoid valves, MiniBlue II applicators deliver industry-best, pneumatic-gun service life of 100 million cycles and fast, two-millisecond cycle times.
Long service life, consistent performance and high-speed capability allows packagers to use MiniBlue II applicators to close more packages with less adhesive, replacing long adhesive beads with shorter, modulated, intermittent beads.
“Fast on/off cycling used to mean more frequent module replacement,” says Duane Fisher, market manager, packaging at Nordson. “MiniBlue II applicators can easily handle the cycles, help packagers double their adhesive mileage and spend less on parts and downtime.”
Patented MiniBlue II applicators are part of Nordson’s new OptiBond™ Solutions program, which help packagers mitigate hot melt adhesive shortages and allocations.
Winner of the 2010 German Packaging Institute’s innovation award, MiniBlue II (slim) applicators come standard with a hard-plastic, insulating cover, that reduces energy use nearly a 40 percent.
Low- and standard viscosity adhesives, from 500 centipoise (cps) and to over 1500 cps, are easily dispensed at high speeds. Robust solenoid mufflers reduce noise below the European Union (EU) directive of 86 decibels (dbA) to 78 dbA. Compact applicator size and flexible solenoid tubing enables easy installation and mounting even confined machine spaces.
