Conscious of its social responsibilities as a corporate citizen, Nordson is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our communities and enabling individuals to become self-sufficient, active participants in the community.
Every year, the Nordson Corporation commits 5 percent of its total pretax income to a variety of charitable causes – with a focus on education.
In India, Nordson is committed to bridging the perceived gap between academia and industry. Senior Managers at Nordson India provide their services as guest faculty in leading colleges in and around Bangalore.
Mr. Suprotik Das, the Managing Director of Nordson India Pvt. Ltd., is a Member of the Academic Council of Mount Carmel College, a leading college for women in Bangalore. Through this association, Nordson makes the reality of the business world accessible to the world of education.
For several years now, Nordson India has been extending its support to the Nightingales Medical Trust, a charitable organization that cares for the welfare of the elderly in and around Bangalore. This aid is offered in the form of donations of medicines, which are used in Nightingales’ projects - particularly the Mobile Medicare Programme that takes medical and nursing care to the rural elderly.
Nightingales Medical Trust plays an important role in empowering the elderly – frequent victims of abuse and harassment from their families and communities – to live comfortable, active, and productive lives.
“We are impressed by their commitment to the work they do.” says Mr. A. N. Venkatesh, Financial Controller, South Asia Region. “What’s more, by training volunteers in first-aid services and geriatric counseling, they are helping create a new generation of Bangaloreans that is sensitive, socially aware and willing to participate in eliminating some of the ills of our society.”
