In 1969 Nordson Far East Inc., started its operation in Tokyo as the first Asian branch of Nordson Corporation, renaming it to Nordson K.K. (NKK) in 1974. Today NKK aggressively and successfully operates in many business fields: container coating applications that have led the worldwide container business; new functional coating applications for fuel cell development; powder coating applications to meet VOC regulations; the most profitable packaging business, as well as product assembly applications, especially for wood working applications to proceed worldwide environmentalisms; and one of the most profitable nonwoven adhesive applications.   NKK operates these businesses through eight branch offices and two sub-branch offices throughout Japan, accounting for approximately 10 to 12% of total Nordson sales. One of the most outstanding contributions of NKK is having initiated the Nordson electronics business by inventing and introducing the Select Coat® System into the market, which was later combined with the Asymtek business and is now operated by Nordson Asymtek K.K. in Japan.
