Ultraviolet Lamp Types and Spectral Output

Iron
Frequently referrred to as a "D" bulb, this lamp is rich in UVA output.

Gallium
Frequently referrred to as a "V" bulb, it is a strong performer in the higher UV range. This lamp delivers excellent output in the 405nm to 420nm wavelengths.

Mercury
One of the most commonly used lamps and frequently referred to as “H” bulb, this lamp delivers a good broad-band output across all wavelengths.

Mercury

Indium
Frequently referred to as the “Q” bulb, this lamp delivers strong performance in the UVV wavelengths up to 450nm.

Indium

Mercury+ Bulb
Frequently referred to as an “H+” bulb, this lamp is similar in output to the mercury bulb, but with enhanced emission in the shorter UVC wavelengths.
