DULUTH, Georgia - April 19, 2005 - The new FillEasy Adhesive Feed System from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq – NDSN), the world’s leading producer of precision dispensing equipment, automatically maintains desired adhesive levels in Nordson melters. The FillEasy system is ideal for production environments requiring a simple, dependable and economical filling system.
The system uses a cone with integrated ultrasonic sensor mounted to the tank/reservoir lid of the adhesive melter. The sensor detects low adhesive levels and transmits a signal to a suction lance placed in the adhesive container. The system adds small quantities of adhesive to the sealed tank at regular intervals preventing the tank from running dry and reducing instance of adhesive char, contaminants and incorrect adhesive temperatures that result in poor bonding. The FillEasy system is compatible with various bulk adhesive containers including bag, box, drum or tote, and adhesives in the shape of pellets, pastilles and micro-mini slats.
By automating the adhesive refill process operators are free to perform other, more productive tasks and creating a safer workplace by reducing operator exposure to hot surfaces and minimizing need for repetitive lifting to fill adhesive tanks.
The FillEasy system’s one-hose design minimizes installation and maintenance requirements. Automatic sensor calibration allows operators to complete set-up with the flip of a switch. The system retrofits to Nordson 3100, 3400, 3500 and 3700 Series, Nordson ProBlue® 4, 7, 10 and Nordson DuraBlue® 10 and 16 melters.
