The VeriTec® G-NET Verification System from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq – NDSN) provides real-time monitoring and on-line adhesive pattern detection, product inspection and production measurement. The system enhances quality assurance and immediately removes deficiencies that can cause production delays or shipping losses.
Patent-pending glue sensors detect the presence and placement of adhesive beads, dots and films without using adhesive additives or tracers. Additives can negatively affect adhesive machineability, characteristics, bonding performance and formulation changeovers. Sensors operate at greater tolerance levels with a higher resolution than laser- or microwave-based sensors, producing more accurate readings with less false errors. A fast response time of 100 microseconds with a total resolution of 1 millimeter handles complex patterns at line speeds up to 700 meters per minute (2300 ft/min).
Each system accepts up to eight glue sensors or a combination of glue-detection and non-adhesive sensors that operate in up to four distinct zones. Two additional sensors may be used to detect product characteristics such as bar codes or double-fed products. Other non-adhesive sensors are available to detect misfeeds, skews, bent or missing flaps, cellophane windows, print-to-cut registration and foil stamps. Products with faulty patterns or features are immediately marked or ejected for subsequent disposition.
The microprocessor-based G-NET control integrates and tracks all system functions. An intuitive console design simplifies operator programming using a convenient teach mode. Operators visually monitor glue sensor activity via a graphic display that shows patterns in real-time.
The G-SITE network interface minimizes installation effort and allows future expansion convenience. Documentation of production statistics helps manufacturers meet ISO 9000 criteria and analyze operating costs.
Nordson Corporation designs, manufactures and markets systems that apply adhesives, sealants and coatings to consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations. Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, Nordson has direct operations in 32 countries and more than 4,000 employees worldwide.
