The new LogiComm™ integrated adhesive pattern control and verification system from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq—NDSN) provides modularity to meet the dynamic needs of folding carton manufacturers. The system delivers quick pattern development and changeovers as well as on-line adhesive detection, product inspection and production reporting for line speeds up to 1200 m/min (3937 fpm).
LogiComm systems offer a building block approach allowing installation of either pattern control or verification initially with the capability to easily integrate the other function as needed. Systems consist of up to three remote touch-screens and up to eight control modules, each of which supports expansion of the number of pattern control or verification channels. Full system capacity is either 64 pattern channels or 96 verification sensors, or a combination of the two.
Pattern control capabilities provide a selection of bead choices and up to eight independent triggers per control module to meet a broad range of application requirements. Programming and operation are simplified with easy-to-program touch screens, multi-language displays and virtually unlimited memory.
Verification sensors detect presence and placement of adhesive without additives or tracers that can negatively impact adhesive properties and machineability. In addition to adhesive, sensors can detect and verify a broad range of product characteristics including bar codes, security tags, misfeeds, skews, flap faults and cellophane windows.
LogiComm systems also include production reporting and closed loop compensation capabilities.
