Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq – NDSN) has moved its Nordson Benelux packaging and product assembly sales group and paper and paperboard converting (PPC) business unit into an expanded facility to support product development, engineering, marketing and customer testing.
The 10,000 square foot facility in Udenhout, The Netherlands, is the center for the development and worldwide marketing of Nordson paper and paperboard converting (PPC) systems. Prior to the move, the company’s packaging and product assembly sales group and PPC business unit were located in a smaller facility nearby.
The new, larger building contains expanded laboratory, office and conference space, including dedicated labs for product and application testing, customer demonstrations and training. The building almost doubles the capacity of Nordson’s previous operations in Udenhout.
“Combining our engineering and laboratory capabilities under one roof will greatly support the global PPC business. The expanded facility will allow greater collaboration with key OEM’s and users to develop state-of-the-art, industry-specific solutions,” says Winfred Otten, PPC business unit manager.
The facility will be staffed with approximately 50 people from the company’s Benelux packaging and product assembly sales group and PPC business. Nordson’s PPC business unit, which specializes in technology to manufacture envelopes, folding cartons, corrugated boxes, bags and sacks, and post press graphic arts, will continue to support the European Distribution Center in Maastricht, the company’s Dutch-based manufacturing and European Customer Service operations.
