DAWSONVILLE, Georgia - November 9, 2006 - Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq – NDSN) announces the promotion of Michael Fornes to nonwovens global marketing manager for the company’s Nonwovens Systems business.
In his new position, Fornes will direct nonwovens global marketing initiatives, specifically focusing on growth activities. These include driving new applications to market, accelerating recapitalization of older systems, and leveraging Nordson standard solutions. He will also be responsible for identifying and positioning Nordson to capitalize on new market trends.
George Porter, senior manager global nonwovens and coating systems, said, “Mike’s strong knowledge base in products and applications, and recent experience as business development manager in Asia for nonwovens and web coating will help maximize efforts to strengthen our leadership position in the worldwide nonwovens market.”
Fornes started with Nordson in 1992 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the nonwovens, web coating, product assembly and powder coating businesses. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in international business management from Baldwin-Wallace College.
