In this added role, DeVries will have worldwide management responsibility for all three businesses and hold the title of vice president nonwovens and fiber systems.
DeVries started with Nordson in 1984 and has held a series of positions with increasing responsibilities in the automotive, product assembly and packaging businesses. DeVries assumed responsibility for Nordson nonwovens systems in 2001.
"Our customers need engineered systems, along with service and support across all of our nonwovens business and application areas, ranging from the in-line manufacture and lamination of nonwovens webs to the construction of finished disposable hygiene products. A more concentrated management structure across the three businesses will position the company to better serve customers worldwide," said Don McLane, Nordson senior vice president.
Martin Allen, former co-owner of JM Laboratories and Nordson vice president fiber systems, will serve as fiber technology advisor, reporting to DeVries and focusing on innovative technology development. "Mr. Allen has been an indispensable contributor to the smooth integration and operation of JM Laboratories within Nordson and continues to be one of the most prolific inventors in the corporation," said DeVries.
