DAWSONVILLE, Georgia - April 16, 2002 - Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq - NDSN) Nonwovens Systems Group recently relocated to the Nordson facility in Dawsonville, Georgia. The move allowed the Nonwovens Systems Group to join its sister business units, the Fiber Systems and Web Coating Systems groups, which also support the nonwovens market.
Each business unit is now able to share more easily the technology and application expertise of each other and more effectively integrate product development, engineering, marketing and customer support programs.
In addition, the move allows the Nonwovens Systems Group to maximize the extensive, state-of-the-art Center of Excellence (COE) lab facilities for product development and testing. The 40,000 square foot facility houses four laboratories dedicated to advanced application technology development and web coating and laminating processes. These labs are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, including winders capable of 500 meters per minute, Nordson UV curing systems, vision systems and test analysis apparatus.
The COE also contains the first and only bi-component nonwoven pilot line in the world capable of producing bico-spunbond/meltblown/spunbond composites on a single line at production speeds of up to 800 meters per minute.
This dedicated and comprehensive approach to product development makes Nordson the only multi-national company in the world capable of offering total system solutions for the manufacture of nonwovens and disposable products. The ability to simulate actual production line situations and perform extensive product and application testing before installation at a customer site will maximize customer productivity.
