DULUTH, Georgia - June 16, 2000 - New Universal Series Hoses from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq - NDSN) are compatible with all Nordson and non-Nordson hot melt units that use resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensing. The unique and reusable interface adapter cable can be customized to fit most any hot melt system, enabling manufacturers to consolidate and reduce their hose inventory and spare parts costs.

Available in a wide variety of standard lengths from 2 to 18 meters (7 to 59 ft) and diameters of either 10- or 16-millimeters (3/8 and 5/8in.), Universal hoses eliminate custom hose requirements, providing faster, off-the-shelf delivery. Nordson advanced-technology Universal hoses provide accurate thermal sensing through reliable area sensors for consistent hot melt flow rates and uniform adhesive patterns. Four layers of overlapped aramid insulation increase thermal efficiency, control heat loss and reduce external hose temperature for enhanced durability and productivity.

Universal hoses meet worldwide quality codes and safety guidelines. To prevent power up of the hose or gun without a grounded connection, electrical connections use make-first break-last ground pins at unit and gun ends, and include two separate ground paths to protect personnel from injury and equipment from damage.
