DULUTH, Georgia - May 24, 2000 - New Series MB-200 Meltblown Applicators from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq -NDSN) produce fine-fiber adhesive patterns and reliable bonds at low add-on weights. High-performance capability generates patterns with fiber sizes ranging from 10 to 100 microns and add-on weights as low as 0.5 grams per square meter. Applicators are ideally suited for cloth-like backsheet lamination or tissue and acquisition layer attachment in disposable products.
The wide range of fiber sizes adds production flexibility. MB-200 applicators can produce highly dense patterns to maximize bond strength, open patterns to promote absorbency, or fine patterns to eliminate distortion on heat-sensitive polyethylene substrates. A combination of full and partial dies in high/low density versions produces customized coatings.
Die coverage widths range from 1 to 22 millimeters. Applicators maintain edge control to within 4 millimeters from critical edges without overspray and operate at line speeds up to 300 meters per minute and higher.
Modular design simplifies field changeover from other Nordson spray technologies, reducing downtime and operating costs. Easy service features include single-piece dies that detach without module removal, and nozzle cleaning while on the applicator.
Nordson Corporation designs, manufactures and markets systems that apply adhesives, sealants and coatings to consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations. Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, Nordson has direct operations in 32 countries and more than 4,000 employees worldwide.
