DULUTH, Georgia - April 13, 2000 - The new VL 500 System Series Melters from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq - NDSN) utilize advanced technology in a system that is easy to operate, simple to maintain and flexible enough to meet a variety of adhesive application requirements. Equipped with a Vista™ Temperature Control System and available with either one or two variable-speed AC motors, VL 500 melters are capable of producing a wide range of nonwoven and disposable products.

Nordson Vista controls increase productivity through precise temperature control for better accuracy and stability and automation of functions currently performed manually including daily startup and shutdown. Vista controls also provide remote monitoring capability and self-diagnostics to quickly locate fault conditions and facilitate repair or replacement.

The hydraulic system of the VL 500 melters provides maximum flexibility. Depending upon adhesive application requirements, VL 500 melters can be equipped with a variety of hoppers and manifolds and may be configured for internal or external circulation. They can be supplied with one or two drive systems and single- or dual-stream gear pumps. With two dual-stream gear pumps, up to four guns can be individually metered for superior control of applicator output.

VL 500 melters use a grid melter design with a large-volume warm-hopper to process up to 50 kilograms of adhesive per hour, and are available in three different hopper capacities including 18 kg, 30 kg, and 55 kg.
