Nordson provides a battery coating system that applies conductive coating to the inside of the casings. The coating prevents corrosion and tarnish, and provides a conductive film that allows peak performance and longer life.

Based on material characteristics and other application specifications, the conductive coating is applied using one of three patented Nordson dispensing guns configured with either a flat or controlled-pattern nozzle. An airless pumping system is used to supply the material. Similar to traditional container coating operations, the battery casing rotates while the gun sprays inside at a pre-determined angle. The system is capable of spraying at production line speeds in excess of 400 batteries per minute.

The battery coating system can also be equipped with the CleanSpray® Nozzle Cleaning System and the CanWorks® Spray Monitor System to enhance overall performance. Batteries can also be cured using proprietary Nordson induction technology.
