Nordson spray systems can apply barrier coatings to plastic products. These coatings provide a carbon dioxide and/or oxygen barrier, enhancing shelf life. A topical barrier also allows manufacturers to use virgin plastic pre-forms instead of multi-layer versions. Less expensive methods for recycling the plastics back into containers may also be implemented.
