In vehicle glass bonding operations, fixed side glass requires a gasket or seal to minimize vibration and prevent water and dust from entering the vehicle interior. The Nordson FoamMix® system creates form-in-place gaskets that result in gasket uniformity, increased glass installation speed and material cost savings.

The Nordson FoamMix system blends standard butyl materials with inert gas to produce a homogenous mixture. As the material is robotically dispensed, the gas expands to create a closed-cell foam. The gasketing material --applied by the glass manufacturer -- cures quickly and the gasketed glass parts are packed for shipment to the assembly plant.

In addition, the FoamMix system reduces material use and costs.

A fixed side glass system includes a FoamMix unit, Nordson bulk unloader, AG-900 dispensing module and robot.
